It’s been three weeks since we released Always Been. Thanks to all who have listened and shared kind words. It’s very much appreciated.
One of the songs that I’ve heard a lot about is “Luke & Leanna”, which tells the story of an urbane couple that are holding on for dear life. I think at the heart of the story is our inability to completely grasp our loved ones workplaces and the various arenas our lives occupy in these modern times.
Today, I’m sharing an original demo I made of the song. You can hear me at the beginning suggesting some sort of musical element which Adam deftly changed into a cool synth line. Otherwise, it has a lot of the elements of what became the final version. I remember being in Toronto when Adam and Austin sent me this track, and I went on a run while listening to it on repeat. So happy with how it came out, but also fun to hear to its origins here.
